Contemporary Jeweler, Metalsmith
My current work reflects personal interactions and observations inspired by the daily urban environment. This investigation has led me to encounter preciousness within the functional object. Expanding off the aesthetic value of these industrial forms that surround me I take in consideration their identity and operative role.
Communication is one of many functional components within jewelry. With its placement on the body, jewelry has the opportunity to create conversation and identity. The displacement of these acquainted objects to a location on the body invite the public to explore and question the several facets of jewelry. I hope for the wearer of my work to engage in questioning the qualities of omnipresent functional objects.
